SLMHC installing two new chemistry analyzers, improving Laboratory testing
Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre - Special to The Bulletin
On February 24, Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) received two brand new Atellica CI Chemistry Analyzers, marking an important step forward in strengthening our laboratory services.
Once fully validated, these new analyzers will allow SLMHC to expand our chemistry testing menu and improve turnaround times, helping ensure patients receive results faster while maintaining high-quality standards our communities rely on.
Over the next few months, Siemens specialists are on-site installing and configuring the instruments and performing the first phase of testing to ensure the analyzers are operating exactly as designed, producing accurate results. Following this, our laboratory team will complete additional verification testing to confirm the analyzers perform reliably within our own environment and meet all quality and accreditation standards.
Several members of our team will also be attending super-user training, allowing them to become advanced operators and support staff during implementation and ongoing use.
We are currently working toward a projected go-live date of late August 2026.
Thank you to our laboratory team and partners who are helping bring this exciting upgrade to life. We look forward to sharing more updates as we move closer to implementation!
