Election signs

The Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding residents that municipal election campaign signs are private property.
Damaging, removing, stealing or otherwise interfering with campaign signs is not just disrespectful — it may constitute Mischief under the Criminal Code and could result in criminal charges.
Everyone is entitled to support the candidate of their choice and participate in the democratic process without having their property damaged or interfered with.
If you witness someone damaging or stealing election signs, or discover that your signs have been vandalized, please report the incident to police.
