Ontario Provincial Police investigating death in Sioux Lookout

Ontario Provincial Police in Sioux Lookout are investigating a death in the community which they have deemed “suspicious”.
OPP shared in a March 10 media release, “On Sunday, March 8, 2026, shortly after 8:30 a.m. CDT, officers were dispatched to a location on Meno Ya Win Way, where one person was located deceased.
“Investigators believe this is an isolated incident.”
The Sioux Lookout OPP and the OPP North West Region Crime Unit are conducting the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.
