Supporting the food bank

The Sioux Lookout Food Bank recently broke ground on the site of their future home at 7 Carlbom Drive. Construction of a new building for the food bank is hoped to get underway in the spring.
Teams in this year’s Blueberry Bocce Tournament donated a portion of their registration fees to support the Food Bank’s building project.
Carbone said it was great to be able support the food bank, who in turn support members of the community.
Sioux Lookout Mayor Doug Lawrance had remarked during the groundbreaking ceremony for the food bank’s new home, that in 2024 there were over 1,100 food hamper deliveries to about 200 households, over 600 people, including at least 200 children.
Landgraff said of the donation, “It’s really exciting and so thankful to have the donation and the support of the community. Like Joe mentioned, they know we’re doing the building project so we can better serve the community and we’re thankful for those able to contribute. It’s really encouraging.”
Anyone who would like to donate to the project can EMT [email protected]. Donors are asked to indicate “building fund” in the comments. Receipts will be given for all donations.
