Skating through the Seasons
Sioux Lookout Skating Club skaters leapt, spun, and danced their way into the hearts of audience members during their year-end show on April 12 at the Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena.
Forty skaters from the club participated in the show, which coaches said was very successful.
Aubrey Bates, Artistic Director for the year-end show and a coach in the club, said of picking this year’s theme, “Skating through the Seasons, we came up with the concept of doing four seasons and the entire coaching team and board liked the theme.”
At the show’s conclusion, Scott Rachuk, Director for Skate Ontario, presented Sioux Lookout Skating Club President Kim Savoie with the Skate Ontario Volunteer of the Year Award.
The Ojibway Power Toboggan Association's Pink Warrior Run on March 7 raised $10,400 to donate to the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre Foundation for a new mammography machine for SLMHC as well as general health care services provided by SLMHC...
