Memories & Celebrations: Obituary
David John Rarick
May 5, 1967 – April 16, 2025
With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of David John Rarick on Wednesday April 16, 2025 at 57 years of age, after a long and courageous battle with Cancer.
Dave is survived by his daughters Jaime Juhnke (Joshua) and Celine (Colton King), granddaughter Madelyn, father Tom, siblings Dawn Zimmerman (Pete), Joe (Salli), Chris (Jan) and Scott (Ellen), and many Nieces and Nephews. Dave was predeceased by his mother Patricia Rarick and his grandparents.
Dave was born on May 5, 1967 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and moved to Moonlight Falls Camp in Sioux Lookout at the age of 9, where he found a love for hunting, fishing and exploring the outdoors. He started working for the CN in the mid 80’s, operated heavy equipment for Perron Contracting, and hauled fuel to the northern communities on the ice roads for Morgan Fuels.
Dave was a man of many words, he knew how to make his friends and family laugh (or shake their heads) and he definitely knew how to have a good time. He made friends everywhere he went. His favourite place to be was at camp, spending time outside hunting, fishing or sitting by the bonfire, with a beer or whiskey in hand.
He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, generosity and love for his family.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Health Science Centre in Winnipeg and The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre for the help and support given to Dave in the past few years.
Cremation has taken place and celebration of life will be held at a later date when the family can all be together.
A celebration of life will be held on August 9th from 1-5 at the Sioux Lookout Legion.
