Local OPP officers turn in strong performances at World Police and Fire Games

Two local OPP officers have had strong showings at The World Police and Fire Games, which ran from July 28 – August 6, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Constable Paul Vaillancourt placed 15th out of 67 shooters in the Police Action Pistol Event.
Sergeant Haley Collinson placed 1st overall for her age category in the half-marathon.
Collinson is a recipient of the Eric Nystedt Memorial Fitness Award.
Sioux Lookout OPP Detachment Commander Karl Duewel shared, “It’s great to see the results from our Sioux Lookout Cluster Members participating in The World Police and Fire Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Sgt Haley Collinson who is currently working in our Pickle Lake Office had an incredible showing in the half marathon. To place 1st overall in her age group is so impressive. Constable Paul Vaillancourt from the Sioux Lookout Office placed 15th out of 67 shooters, in the Police Action Pistol Event. He was the top shooter from the OPP!”
Duewel further shared of his officers, “We are very proud of their dedication to fitness and sport.” Vaillancourt said that he enjoyed the Games immensely, further stating there were exceptional athletes at The Games with a good sense of sportsmanship, integrity and spirit from all over the world competing.
