Commission hears area views on education
The Royal Commission on Learning came to town last week to hear what local folks think about the current education system in Ontario – they left with an earful.
Students transported to past during field trip
Students from Pelican Falls First Nations High School (PFFNHS) were transported back in time when they visited Saskatchewan recently.
Stumpage fee change
The Ministry of Natural Resources last week announced stumpage fee changes for timber destined for sawmills and pulp mills. When the favourable exchange rate for the Canadian dollar is considered, Ontario softwood lumber is being sold in the U.S. at $430 Canadian per 1,000 board feet.
Vanity plate date
The Ministry of Transport reminds that the deadline to order personalized licence plates for Christmas is October 23, 1993.
