Trustees renew hope for school sports programs
Just when they thought the clock had run out on their sports programs, local teachers, students and parents were given some extra time by the Dryden Board of Education.
As Miss Canada, Almee Leonard of the Sioux Lookout Figure Skating Club gave a near-flawless performance at the club’s annual carnival, Magic on Ice, held Friday and Saturday at the Sioux Lookout Arena.
Running the course of history
Two local marathoners took great pains this week to ensure they have a place in history. Monday afternoon they ran the 100th Boston Marathon along with 37,998 other competitors from around the world.

Researchers have uncovered a new liver disease in six First Nations children from the Sioux Lookout Zone, a discovery that has First Nations representatives concerned about the possible causes and implications for research in aboriginal communities.
