Bert’s Birthday Party

Community members and visitors to town for Sioux Lookout’s 42nd Annual Blueberry Festival were invited to Farlinger Park (town beach) on August 3 to help Blueberry Festival mascot Blueberry Bert celebrate his birthday.
Games and activities were offered by the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre Diabetes Program. Treats were sold by the Sioux Lookout Lions Club and burgers, hot dogs and smokies were for sale courtesy of the Sioux Lookout Shrine Club. 
Birthday guests sang “Happy Birthday” to Bert before celebrating with cupcakes. 
Sioux Lookout Blueberry Festival Committee President Dori Hopko said of the celebration, “Excellent! Lots of kids, great games for all ages. Wonderful support from the community to celebrate Bert’s Birthday.”
