Front Street between Sixth Avenue and the Municipal Parking Lot next to the Red Apple store remains closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
This portion of Front Street has remained closed since the evening of March 3, when a portion of the Red Apple store’s ceiling collapsed.
The Municipality shared with The Bulletin that they are still awaiting information from engineers (working either for Red Apple ULC or the building owner) regarding the structural soundness of the building, or measures needed to ensure the structural soundness of the building.
A notice on the Municipality’s website states, “The closure will remain in place until such time as the Red Apple building can be structurally secured… these measures are being taken to ensure public safety.
