Teachers increase work-to-rule action after board rejects proposal
Keewatin-Patricia School Board trustees unanimously rejected a proposed collection agreement with elementary teachers at a meeting December 14 said board chair Barb Hancock.
Physicians project promotes continuity
A physicians project launched in August is helping some First Nations communities get back on track. The Independent First Nations Alliance hired three doctors to provide regular doctor service to three IFNA member communities last August and the results have been phenomenal said Grace Teskey.
Services board to take over ambulance service
Negotiations concerning the management of land ambulances between the Kenora District Services Board and four regional hospitals broke down last week for the second time since August and will not be resumed said Sten Lif, chief administrative officer of the KDSB.
Santa on ice
One of many excited youngsters sits on Santa’s lap at the Lion’s Club’s Annual Santa Skate Friday evening at the arena. The kids enjoyed free hot chocolate and treats from Santa as well as the free skating.
