Buck Twenty brings successful Entertainment Series season to a close

And it’s a wrap. Another season of the Sioux-Hudson Entertainment Series (SHES) has come and gone, after the final performance of the season by country duo Buck Twenty on May 25.
As SHES Committee Chair Alyson Martin, explained, “It was a wonderful “wrap” to a very long season with twists and turns faced by ourselves and presenting partners, due to the pandemic, and Mother Nature’s blizzards, high winds, flooding and unexpected road closures. Artists found themselves experiencing some of the lesser-known backroads in Northwestern Ontario, but they showed up regardless.”
Speaking of the last act of the season, Martin continued “Buck Twenty, a country duo to continue to watch for, arrived with three accomplished, high energy band mates in tow, and a night of pure enjoyment unfolded.” Looking back on what has been a difficult year for many, Martin then added, “To collectively clap, sing, stamp one’s feet, and laugh, was the best medicine. Time well spent with great musicians, and really nice guys. We let other presenters know that if they weren’t getting them, to go and see them in a community who was, and if they were getting them, to get ready to raise the roof!”
Of course, the ending of one season leads into the planning for the next. Looking ahead, Martin said, “The 2022-2023 Series is upon us, and we can’t wait to share what we have lined up. We hope to get back to a more “normal” presenting process and will keep people posted on our Website, Facebook page, and of course, in The Sioux Lookout Bulletin. Many thanks go to our past sponsors who we hope can support us in the future, the Ontario Arts Council, Canadian Heritage, Ontario Dances!, Ontario Presents, Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, and the staff, students, and custodians of the Sioux North High School. We couldn’t do it without you! Thank you from the bottom of our volunteer hearts, and we look forward to ‘bringing artists and audiences together’ in the fall.”
Updates on what the Sioux-Hudson Entertainment Series has in store for the 2022-2023 season will be posted to https://siouxhudsonentertainmentseries.ca/ as they become available.
