Town clock to be sent away for repairs

The town clock, located at the intersection of Front Street and Wellington Street, will soon be sent away for repairs.
The clock hasn’t been keeping time and will be removed and packed for shipping by the end of August.
Municipal clerk Brian MacKinnon explained, “Current operational demands of the departments involved in this process will not permit us to do so any sooner.”
He further informed, “The timeline for completing repairs, returning the clock and reinstalling the clock is unknown at this time. It will depend on the nature of the repairs that are required to be completed and the amount of time required to complete those repairs.”
“The clock was gifted to the Municipality over a decade ago, the result of hard work and fundraising by community volunteers led by Nancy Roy and Dennis Leney,” the Municipality informed on its social media platforms.
