Slate Falls Airways organizes pair of popular Blueberry Festival events

Slate Falls Airways continued its tradition of offering 10 minute floatplane rides around town on August 5.
On August 10, the business tried out a new idea.
At 1 p.m., a Slate Falls Airways floatplane flew over a crowded MNR Beach and dropped numbered balloons for the excited crowd below.
Numbers on the balloons corresponded to prizes.
The event was sponsored by Fresh Market Foods, Drayton Cash and Carry, Pelican Lake Sandwich Co and VoltEntertainment.
Matt Cairns of Slate Falls Airways shared, “We had great weather for both of our events this year; our annual sightseeing day brought in a record number of passengers as we took up nearly 600 people. The Sioux Looks Out for Paws BBQ during this event was a great success as well!”
He added, “Our first-ever balloon drop was a huge success, with upwards of 200 people - unofficially - on the beach or in the water. With the great feedback we've received on this new event we are planning a bigger and better balloon drop in 2019! Thanks for everyone's support!”
