Sioux Lookout OPP lay charges following stabbing

Ontario Provincial Police in Sioux Lookout have laid several charges following a stabbing incident which took place December 31.
At approximately 8:30 a.m. Sioux Lookout OPP responded to a report of a 25-year-old Sioux Lookout man who had sustained stab wounds.
Police report in a news release, “The male was transported to the hospital in critical condition where he received treatment for his injuries.”
The OPP’s Northwest Region Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Crime Unit and members of the Sioux Lookout Detachment assisted in the apprehension of the accused.
A 28-year-old Sioux Lookout man has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failing to comply with his recognizance, and breaching his probation.
The accused was remanded into custody and appeared in Sioux Lookout court January 5.
