Memories & Celebrations of Life:
Thank You - The Mills Family
On behalf of the “Mills” family a heartfelt THANK YOU to the many businesses, organizations and people of Sioux Lookout for their overwhelming support during the loss of our husband, father, grandfather Derek Roy Mills on August 13, 2017.
“Thank you” to the many churches and people across the nation for their prayers, masses, visits and phone calls. “Thank you” to everyone who sent flowers, gourmet baskets, gifts, food, cards, meals, baking and monetary donations sent in Derek’s memory.
A huge “thank you” to Dr. Russell-Mahoney for her compassion and professionalism. Our family will be forever grateful that she made it possible for Derek to spend his final months at home on the lake. A special “thank you” to our two nurses Nicole and Linda…we could NOT have done it without you. As well, “thank you” to the Menoyawin Health Centre, Hugh Allen Clinic, Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Centre, Tamarack House and Community Care Access Centre staff.
“Thank you” to Derek’s brothers from the Sioux Lookout Masonic Lodge who organized the touching memorial service. “Thank you” to Hazel’s sister Rev. Dale Gillman and Muriel Anderson for preparing and officiating the beautiful funeral service, Margie Kimball for her solo “The River”, to the organist Michelle Windells, the interdenominational choir for the beautiful music, ACW for the luncheon and Father Mike Mahoney for the use of Sacred Heart Church. We would especially like to acknowledge Derek’s amazing friends and pallbearers Billy George, Phil Berard, John Dudley, Ed Robinson, Wayne Morris and Paul Mills who were beyond supportive. We could count on them for anything and they were always there for us. “Thank you” to Andre and Brian Tardiff and all the staff at Petro Canada for the tribute to Derek after the service and the unveiling of the beautiful “Derek’s Place” sign hanging proudly at 5 mile corner.
And finally, we would like to say a huge “thank you” to all our friends and family. Not only did you come and support and love us, but you made us feel like we were never alone on this journey.
Blessings to everyone!
