Memories & Celebrations of Life:
MacLellan Family Thank You
The family of the late Angus J. MacLellan would like to extend gratitude to all those who were there for our Dad especially over the years during his failing health. To those who helped us keep track of him when he would sneak off to the blueberry patch or would take a walk downtown, we send a big ‘thank you’. We acknowledge the efforts of Dr. Len Kelly and Dr. Bob Minty to address his medical needs, as well as all the Staff at the William A. (Bill) George Extended Care for his daily care. Many thanks to Debbie Carter and the Sioux Lookout Funeral Home for your guidance and compassion during this difficult time. With appreciation, we recognize Father Mike Mahoney, Deacon Stan MacLellan (dad’s brother), and Deacon Charles Baumgartner for making Deacon Angus’ service a wonderful celebration Mass. It was a great honour for us to witness the presentation of an engraved chalice from the Knights of Columbus Council 3198 to our uncle, Deacon Stan MacLellan by 4th Degree Knight, Lew Morgan. Our family has designated this chalice for use in Sacred Heart Parish in Sioux Lookout. We are humbled by the thoughtful message of sympathy from Bishop Fred Colli of Thunder Bay, which was read by Father Mike, and we are thankful for their visits with dad. Our family is grateful to the Knights of Columbus Honour Guard and the Honorary Pallbearers: Lew Morgan, Fran Donnelly, Lawrence Bower, Ken Legros, Charles Baumgartner, and Smokey Cole. The gift of music was provided by organist Garth Hyslop, singer Adele Brunton, and the collaboration of Sacred Heart Parish Senior and Intermediate Choirs, joined by members of St. Andrew’s United and St. Mary’s Anglican Church Choirs. To all the speakers who shared their memories, thoughts, and sentiments in his honour, Dad/Grampa would have been profoundly proud. Special thank you to the Catholic Women’s League for the preparation and serving of the delicious reception lunch in the Parish Hall. Our family offers heartfelt thanks to those who sent flowers, brought food, sent sympathy and Mass cards, made donations in Angus’ honour, attended Dad’s funeral service, and offered gestures of friendship and kind words in our loss. We are sincerely grateful for the caring support of family and friends who travelled from out of town.
