Hockey day in Sioux Lookout for SLHL teams

Teams in the Sioux Lookout Hockey league (SLHL) capped off their regular season with a trio of games March 3 at the Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena.
In the first match of the afternoon, the Poundtown Shaguars defeated Pelican Falls 14-10.
Next up, the Steelheads beat the Sioux Rebels 9-7.
Later that evening, the Slate Falls Airways Otters dismantled the Sasquatch 19-2.
The previous evening the Poundtown Shaguars blanked the Slate Falls Airways Otters 3-0, and the Sioux Rebels defeated the Sasquatch 12-9.
The Sasquatch led the league this season with a record of 18 wins, four losses, and two ties for a total of 38 points.
The Sioux Rebels finished second with 15 wins, eight losses, and one tie for a total of 31 points.
The Steelheads finished just behind in third place with a record of 15 wins and nine losses for a total of 30 points.
The Poundtown Shaguars finished fourth with 10 wins and 14 losses for a total of 20 points.
The Slate Falls Airways Otters came in fifth, posting nine wins, 15 losses, earning them 18 points.
Pelican Falls finished sixth with three wins, 20 losses and one tie for seven points.
The SLHL playoffs began March 5 with the Steelheads facing off against Pelican Falls in a best of three quarter final series.
Game two of that series takes place tonight (March 7) at 10 p.m.
Game three, if needed, will be played on March 9 at 9 p.m.
The Slate Falls Airways Otters take on the Poundtown Shaguars in the other SLHL best of three quarter final series.
Game one of that series takes place March 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Game two will be played March 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Game three, if needed, will take place March 11 at 8:30 p.m.
