Fun in the snow at Sacred Heart School!
Children love to explore outdoors throughout the school year. Over at Sacred Heart School, the large playground and proximity to Cedar Bay trails provide endless opportunities for the Kindergarten students to experiment, observe, and discover new things in nature. On Wednesday February 13th, the French and English Kindergarten programs at Sacred Heart School did just that.
Just before their lunchtime recess, students worked together to decorate the large snow mounds in the school yard that have been growing larger and larger with each winter storm. Using tools, they sculpted the hills into sharks, alligators, turtles, octopuses, cats, and anything else their imagination could think of. After doing the heavy lifting of moving snow around, students used dyed water to add a touch of colour to their creations. With the help of educators and parent volunteers, the school yard quickly transformed from an otherwise very white winter landscape into a colourful gallery.
What a wonderful day to be outside spending time with friends and family right before Family Day weekend. The Sacred Heart Kindergarten team would like to remind families in the community that Kindergarten Registration starts February 25th.
