Sioux Lookout OPP seek public assistance regarding robbery incident
Members from the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are requesting assistance from the public to solve a robbery in a private residence.
On July 25, 2018 around 4:58am, officers of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sioux Lookout Detachment were dispatched to a robbery in the area of Third Avenue in Sioux Lookout. An unknown male entered a residence carrying a weapon and confronted the homeowner asking for money. The suspect took a small amount of cash and then fled the scene on foot. Officers responded immediately, along with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit (K9), but were unable to locate anyone in the surrounding area.
The suspect is described as an Indigenous male, approximately 18-21 years of age, approximately 5'10"- 6' tall, medium build, brown eyes, shoulder length black hair, clean shaven, wearing a black jacket and dark pants.
The investigation is continuing. The OPP is requesting anyone with information about this incident to contact the Sioux Lookout Detachment at 807-737-2020 or 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
