Police investigating allegations of historic sexual abuse

A 65-year-old Los Fresno, Texas man has been charged with nine counts of sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age and nine counts of sexual exploitation.
Police shared in a news release, “Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sioux Lookout Crime Unit have been investigating allegations of historical sexual abuse in Sioux Lookout between the years of 1989-1991. Seven adult males have come forward with allegations of sexual assault that occurred when they were under 16 years of age.”
According to police, the alleged incidents took place at Pelican Falls Centre.
As a result of the investigation, the accused, Jack Wicksey, was charged.
Police report that under the direction of Detective Inspector Gerry Scherer of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, Wicksey was arrested in Texas on June 6 and will be extradited to Canada pending the conclusion of US Court Proceedings.
