Letter To The Editor:
Thank you Sioux Lookout
After 25 years of proudly calling Sioux Lookout home it is time to move on. I can't leave without a few words of thanks to so many people and organizations. Firstly to Jeff and Bill Dingwall for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime back in 1995 to manage their newly acquired Sioux Lookout location. My co-workers, I'm not sure if I would have made it without Kim and Diane holding my hand for those first days, weeks and months. The many people that I have had the good fortune to work with thank you - we're not here without you. Our customers - one cannot overstate the gratitude for allowing myself and Dingwall Ford to be a part of your lives - as with our staff we would not exist without you. A big thanks to the tremendous educational system. Michael and Ian were incredibly blessed to have such great teachers and support staff growing up here in Sioux Lookout. The Sioux Lookout Minor Hockey Association - so many wonderful winters spent at the arena - what a great place to grow up and be with your children. The Sioux Lookout Golf & Curling club and the many people that make it possible to have such a gem here in the north. I have played many golf courses over the years and will always rate my home course as one of the best. Nordic Nomads, Sioux Lookout men's soccer league and the crew upstairs at the Forest Inn - thank you as well. Our friends and Michael and Ian's friends. Wow! - How fortunate we are to have such a wonderful group of people allow us into their circle. From golf, marbles, vacations, lake days, Fridays at the Forest Inn to holiday dinners and New Year's eve celebrations with what has become family, our lives are so much richer thanks to you. I have been reluctant to name too many people at the risk of missing anyone but I have to mention Stu Cummings and Derrick Sawdo. These two people were very instrumental in the growth and stability of Dingwall Ford - thank you both. I move on with complete faith that Dingwall Motors will continue to thrive with Derrick at the helm offering new Ford vehicles, Yamaha and Alumacraft as well as exceptional parts and service. Lastly - the biggest thanks must go to Jennifer, Michael and Ian. Words are truly insufficient in trying to express the importance of having such a loving family. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to uproot our life in Kenora to start such a wonderful time of our lives here in Sioux Lookout. Home. Thank you Sioux Lookout.
